Family History

Our history dates back into slavery.  Alex and Betsy Henderson Jordan were born slaves.  Earlier census data label Alex as black and Betsy as mulatta.  Eight children were born from the marriage of Alex and Betsy.    They are Cornelius Jordan Evans, Adline Jordan Bullock, James Jordan, Henry W.B. Jordan, Sr, Robert Jordan, Alfred Jordan, Joseph Jordan, Sr., and Mary Jordan Clark.  They resided in the Nutbush Township of Warren County, NC.  Betsy died September 29, 1937.
